Founded by Brent Knight and Jeff VanderHorst in 2004, our company has grown to become one of the largest privately-owned document destruction firms in the United States. Being a locally operated company with hands-on senior management allows us to make quick, effective operational decisions, offering a level of flexibility that large national companies simply can’t match. Our team’s mission is straightforward: to take care of our customers.
Meet Our Founders
Brent and Jeff have combined for over 40 years of Executive Management and Director responsibilities in the banking, finance, and mortgage business, focusing on sales, compliance, senior management, and human resources. Brent is from Clendenin, WV, and currently resides in Brentwood, TN. Jeff is from Berea, KY, and currently resides in Lexington, KY.
Our Journey
KnightHorst began its journey in Nashville, TN, with a vision centered on compliance, security, and customer service. As demand for our trusted services grew, we expanded to Lexington, KY, in 2006 and Charleston, WV, in 2008. Despite our growth, we’ve remained focused on controlled expansion, ensuring that our customer retention rate stays above 98%.

With over 20 shredding trucks and collection vehicles, we service more than 3,000 clients each month across five states: Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio, Tennessee, and West Virginia, along with shredding partners throughout North America.

Our state-of-the-art shredding trucks, valued between $250,000 – $300,000 each, can shred up to 12,000 lbs per hour, ensuring top security and safety.

Our team of trained professionals is equipped with state-of-the-art shredding technology to securely and efficiently destroy your confidential documents. We can either come to your office, warehouse, or any other location of your choice to destroy your files with one of our powerful paper destruction trucks or collect your documents in our security bins and transport them to our secure facility and shred them there.
